Last Thursday a dear friend of ours, Mr. Miller, died suddenly and unexpectedly. It was a huge shock to the family and those who knew him. We went to his funeral on Monday and shed many tears. He will be greatly missed. Yet we do not sorrow as those who have no hope. (1Thessalonians 4:13-14) He is in heaven with his Savior, the one he loved and desired for others to come to know as their own personal Savior!!
I am not sure if we ever told Mr. Miller this, but he was like a grandpa to us girls. Both of our grandpas passed away several years ago, so it as so nice to have Mr. Miller! We first met the Miller family the year we moved out here from Vermont 7 years ago. I remember the day we moved into our home here with the big help of our friends, the Miller family. It took about 3 hours for the semi driver to get the semi trailer into the driveway and backed up to the house. It got stuck in the garden and Mr. Miller went to find someone who could help us pull it out with their tractor. Once the semi trailer was finally parked up by the house, Mr. Miller got busy putting us to work. He kept Ana and I and a couple others very busy carrying things to the edge of the trailer while the others carried things from there to the house and garage. Wow, he was good at overseeing a job and getting it done in good time! We would have never gotten that semi trailer done in the the short amount of time we did if it wasn't for Mr. Miller!

Other memories of Mr. Miller:
His hand shake! He would sometimes pretend that you weren't letting go of his hand when it actually was him that wasn't letting go!
He was funny!
He wasn't into animals that much, but he really liked ducks!
He would stop by from time to time and visit for a little bit. One time he gave us girls some pointers on photography as he was a photographer when he was in the Navy Sea Bees during Vietnam. The things that he taught us have helped us in our picture taking. We are thankful for his encouragements in photography!
He loved people.

Those are just a few of the fond memories I have of him.
Mr. Miller is greatly missed.
Please pray for his family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. :-( But praise the Lord that he had a walk with God and is now with Him in heaven. You and your family will be in my prayers this week. I've lost several friends over the last couple years, and I know how it hurts. May the Lord bless and comfort you all!
ReplyDelete"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too." (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
